Direction (from Haeundae Station)

Take Bus 181 at from Haeundae Station (Busan Subway Line 2, Exit 7).

Get off at Yonggungsa•National Fisheries Science

From Museum Bus Stop, walk about 680m to Haedong Yonggungsa Temple.

What to see in Haedong Yonggungsa Temple?

Upon entering the temple complex, there would rows of twelve huge zodiac statues greeting every of the visitor. People require to go through the 108 steep stairs in order to reach the main temple area. The stairs also represent the 108 sufferings in Buddhist beliefs.

Once entered the main temple area, people would amazed by the masterpiece of mother creature, the vast ocean view. The waves lapped on the rocks below under the blue white sky. The fresh sea breeze is welcoming every visitor of the temple . As Haedong Yonggungsa Temple faces to the east, it’s a popular spot for viewing the sunrise too.

Solemn Temple

The 14th century temple is well-maintained. Daengjeon Main Sanctuary which is also the main temple, is solemn and beautiful. Three golden Buddha statues are enshrined at the heart of the hall. Colorful lanterns are hanging over the ceiling and each of it is carrying the wish from the lantern owner.

Wishing Fountain

The bridge before main temple were crowded most of the time. People were trying to toss their coins into the wishing fountain, making their wish.
