Located at Yeongdo-gu, Taejongdae Resort Park has the amazing sea view and rocky cliff.
Boundless ocean with blue white sky. According to local, sometimes Japan’s Tsushima Island can be seen when the sky is clear enough.
The iconic structures in the park, Light Beyond Limitation was also built according to the important characteristic of Taejongdae Resort Park - the ocean, sky, earth and the light that is cast out from Yongdo lighthouse.
Beautiful Myth
There are two famous rock in Taejongdae Resort Park, Sinseon Rock and Mangbuseok Rock. Both are two artistic masterpiece which shaped by mother creatures stand firmly under the cliff embracing the sea wave.
Sinseon Rock, named after the myth that gods and goddesses came down here to relax.
Beside of Sinseon Rock is Mangbuseok rock. People believed that the standing figure above the flat rock is incarnation of a pity woman who died waiting for her husband who had been taken to Japan to come back. Co-incidentally Japan’s Tsushima Island can be observed from here when it’s clear skies, making the story sounds real and logic.
Taejongdae is also famous for the ritual of praying for rain when there are droughts, and rain on the 10th day of the fifth lunar month is called the "Taejong Rain".
Convenient Transport
In Taejongdae, there has a mini train service, ‘Donghae Nambu Trail’. Different from usual train, the Danubi Train is pretty colourful and lovely, especially liked by kids.
The train would bring visitor to the major destinations within this huge park, so people could enjoy the beautiful scenery along the route in a more leisure way.
