Features of Gwangalli Beach
Gwangalli Beach (also referred as Gwangan Beach), is a 1.4 kilometers long, 64 meters wide beach in Gwangan-dong, Busan.
Well known for its fine powdery sand. With the average 1.5 meters water depth and average 21 degree Celsius water temperature, it becomes a great place for swimmers. During summer, there are a lot of water sports such as water ski, jet ski, wind surf.
It is considered as the least commercial beach in Busan. Compared to the overcrowded and overhyped Haeundae Beach, beach lover can enjoy more delightful personal space at here.
Gwangandaegyo (Gwangan Bridge)
What separates Gwangalli Beach from other beaches in Busan is, the suspension bridge set across the water. It sits inside a cove spanned by the Gwangandaegyo (Gwangan Bridge).
Gwangan Bridge, also referred as Diamond Bridge, is the longest bi-level bridge over the ocean in South Korea. The suspension bridge stretches over 7.42 km, connecting Haeundae-gu to Suyeong-gu.
At night, Gwangalli beach becomes exclusively gorgeous when the bridge lit up. Other than colorful light show, the wonderful fireworks display from Gwangan Bridge also glow the night sky.
