Seoul Itinerary

Day 4 : Youth Favorite Places

Ehwa University - Hongdae - Hanuel Park - Yeouido Hangang Park

Stop 1: Ehwa University

Seoul Itinerary 7 days || Ehwa Woman University

Our first stop would be the most beautiful school in Korea, Ehwa Woman University. We boarded bus no.7011 at Namdaemun Market and got off at Sunnyemun stop. Then get on bus no.M7111 from another Sunnyemun bus stop opposite the road. But the bus brought us to the back gate of Ehwa Womans University. ≡[。。]≡

The time we arrived was school time. Most of the students were in the class. Only few students were walking around. Both of us noiselessly walked through the university to the front site. The scenery was pleasing along the route. The beautiful campus perfectly combines classic western and modern architecture.

The campus we loved the most would be Ehwa Campus Complex (ECC). It is located right at the front of Ehwa main entrance. On top of the campus is the lush greeny eco-park. The campus has 6 levels under the park, which comprised of classrooms, convenience stores and cafes. The building is characterized by its use of glass and steel, which creates a sleek, modern look.

The campus also retains many historical buildings. Welch-Ryang Auditorium is another our most-liked campus in Ehwa. The auditorium was originally a christian church and now it is the venue for many well-know events. Ravishing with the red fall leaf climbed along the stone wall.

Coming out from Ehwa main gate, there were lots of fascinating little shops stretched along Ehwa Womans University street. Mainly catering the young ladies in Ehwa campus, the items selling here eg. clothes, socking, shoes, accessories etc, were fashionable and in affordable price. We got ourselves cup of bubble tea. Colourful bubble tea was used to be our favourite drink back in school time, and so to most of the Asian kids, I think.

Stop 2 : Hongdae

Seoul Itinerary 7 days || Cheese Dakgalbi, Hongdae

Before we go to our second destination, we stopped by Hongdae area for lunch first. We hopped onto bus no.273 at Ewha Woman Univ. Station and got off at the stop of Hongik University. Hongik University Street that centered around Hongdae University, also has many unique cafe, restaurant, trendy fashion stores, clubs and galleries. Flea market was held at Hongik Children Park. Local young artists were selling their artistic handicraft, indie performances, art workshops, street portraits. The neighborhood was so energetic.

As always, we looked for the restaurant loaded with most local people. We got ourselves a tasty Cheese Dakgalbi (Korean Chicken Stir Fry) as lunch. The flavoring meal came in a set. Kimchi hotpot was set in the middle, while pre-stirred fried chicken with melted cheese were heated at the outer-rim. Recommend to start from the Dakgalbi first as the cheese would harden after heating for a certain long period.

Stop 3 : Haneul Park

Our next destination was Haneul Park. It was on top of our ‘Must-Visit List’ in Seoul during autumn. Back to the bus stop opposite the main entrance of Hongik Univ., we hopped onto the town bus Mapo08 to World Cup Stadium. It was a long bus trip. It took around 1 hour to the destination.

Seoul Itinerary 7 days || Hanuel Park

Hanuel park is like its name ‘Haneul’ which means sky in Korean, situated at the highest plateau of World Cup Park. We walked along the upland path to the top. The hike took us around 45mins. When we arrived Hanuel park, it was 5.23pm, right on sunset. The huge silver grass field was breathtaking with the evening sun giving a warm orange tinge to the sky behind. It was restful to saunter along the silver grass trail.

As the day was getting darken, we paid 4,000won and took electric cart, which is the fastest way back to the ground. We arrived car park of World Cup Stadium in a short time.

Stop 4 : Yeouido Hangang Park

We proceeded to our third destination, Yeouido Hangang Park for dinner. It is one of the three popular Hangang park, which staged various urban festivals. There would have Yeouido World Night Market on Saturday night. We got on a subway at World Cup Stadium Station to Yeouinaru Station.

Unexpectedly, the park was quiet and we couldn't find the night market. Nevertheless, we still enjoyed the moment chillax in the park.

From here, stunning nightscape of Seoul and Hangang River could be seen at a glance. All kind of facilities like bench, swing chair, were provided for people to rest. Few couples were camping here and enjoyed their lovely moment inside their tents. If have any chance, we will again be the guest of Yeouido Hangang Park when cherry blossoms. Rent a bike, cycle around the park and enjoy the daytime view, it would be another great way to spend an afternoon in Seoul.

Garlic and spicy flavoured Chicmaek

It was already 8pm. We took subway back to Hoehyeon Station. After having a refreshing shower, we went to the Chicmaek shop which located beside of our guesthouse for supper. Yum! Korean fried chicken with beer were the best in midnight~

This was all our activities on

Day-9 in Korea.

See you next day,

bye.
