How to get to Haneul Park?

World Cup Stadium Station (Subway Line 6, Exit 1).

Turn right and go around the stadium.

Follow the big road and turn left to cross the street at the 4-way intersection.

The ways to reach the top of Haneul Park

• Walk along upland path. Takes longer time (around 45min) but could slowly enjoy the peaceful scenery along the road.

• Climb a wooden stairway that boasts 291 steps. Faster (around 29 mins) than long walk but need some stamina.

• Take electric cart ‘Maengkkongi’ at the parking lot. The express way but takes 2000won each ride and need to queue sometimes.

Background of Hanuel Park

World Cup Park is built in Sangam-dong and Seongsan-dong of Mapo-gu. Originally it was an abandoned landfill site. It was being transformed into an ecological park to commemorate 2002 FIFA World Cup. Haneul Park is one of the five parks inside World Cup Park.

Like its name ‘Haneul’ which means sky in Korean, the park is situated at the highest plateau of World Cup Park. It can be reached by a long staircase or a more gentle slope.
