  • Across the pedestrian from Omokdae Pavilion and approximately 80 meters downhill, is Imokdae. There are the memorial stone and building where the ancestors of King Taejo, Mokjo once used to live before. The engraved letters on the stone is the handwriting by Emperor Gojong. Gojong refused to accept the fall of Joseon Dynasty and tried to reconstruct the traditional dynasty.

  • Both represent the role of Jeonju as the home of Joseon Dynasty, where the first king stayed and the last king engraved his words with blood and tears as the country fall.

Breathtaking Scenery

  • Compared to lively Jeonju Hanok Village, Imokdae and Omokdae pavilion are serene and quaint. While the autumn leaves colored the historic sites in warmer color which compliment the sites well. Omokdae and Imokdae are especially aesthetic in autumn and winter.

  • The high elevation of pavilion also make it a good place to glimpse over the Jeonju Hanok Village through the scattered trees.
